Connections
Workspaces need to be connected to the Data Source for seamless creation of Process Maps, Dashboards and Reports.
This feature helps establish a connection to the Database, which will be used by different features of ViVE, when ever there is a requirement for connection with the source.
Click the ‘Connections' option in the Data and Connections sub-menu of the ‘ViVE Admin’ main menu to display the following screen:
Connection Type
DB Type
Connection Name
Server
Database
Port number
File
Driver
User Id
Password
Click the ‘Save’ button to save the connection for use at a later stage.
Click the ‘Test’ button to test the connection status with the given credentials.
Editing and Deleting Connections
Enter the name of the Workspace and click the ‘Search’ button to display a list of all connections for the selected workspace.
Click on the ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete’ buttons to side of the connections in the table to edit or delete the connections.
Note:
Using a source connection, we can build process maps. Once a process map is generated, two connections—SQL and XMLA—are automatically created for it. The XMLA connection is used to build dashboards and reports for that process map. Compliance dashboards, however, can be created directly on top of the process map without selecting any connection.
